On her Proms debut

Karen Geoghegan is a 21-year-old Scottish bassoonist with an exciting future ahead of her. She’s making her Proms debut tomorrow night at the Royal Albert Hall playing Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto in B flat major with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. Karen was a popular runner-up in BBC Two’s talent competition 'Classical Star' two years ago, and is in her final year at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Karen gives Jenni a live taste of the Mozart Concerto and talks about the challenges of the repertoire and her ambition to popularise the bassoon as a solo instrument.
