Women and Heart Surgery 31 Jul 2009
Female patients face twice the risk of men.

Amidst all the publicity about improvements in survival rates after heart surgery, the gulf between men and women is growing. A recent study shows that women are twice as likely to die after heart surgery as men and that women with heart problems appear to do worse.
