Following their recent victory in the Ashes, the England women’s cricket team has been hailed as one of the most successful English sports teams in history. It is their third successive Ashes win. They have also won the Twenty20 World Championship and the World Cup. Nevertheless, coverage of their achievements has been minimal. So just why is women’s sport overlooked and how can it be marketed to attract more fans as well as players?
