SOS For Honey Bees 01 June 2009
Honey Bee
The Women's Institute calls for action

Honey bees play a crucial role in biodiversity with their vital task of pollinating plants. But the UK is losing its bee population at an increasing rate. At their AGM on Wednesday, members of the Women’s Institute will debate a resolution. Dubbed ‘SOS For Honey Bees’, the WI will call for increased funding for research into bee health. Jane is joined by Susan Jonas from the Women's Institue, Tim Lovett, who’s President of the British Beekeepers’ Association and Debbie Harding from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council.
