The Trouble with Working Women 19 May 2009
Do women lack the time to get everything done?
Can women really juggle it all?

Women now make up around half the UK workforce. This might bring financial independence that previous generations of women only dreamed of, but many feel it leaves them struggling with other responsibilities such as raising children and running the family home. Is it easy for a woman to juggle everything life throws at them or is having it all just a myth? To discuss, Jenni is joined by Dr. Caroline Gatrell whose latest research shows that working mothers are hiding their motherhood from fellow colleagues because they feel it will disadvantage them in the workplace.  Dr. Catherine Hakim from the London School of Economics claims women are making clear choices between work and child-raising, with a high proportion of those in top jobs choosing not to have children.
