Three quarters of the fertility patients who took part in a new survey by Infertility Network UK said that they would consider going abroad for their treatment. The cost of IVF in the UK and the long waiting lists for donor eggs were the most decisive factors, but many also cited higher success rates and better facilities. But why is the service available in this country so poorly regarded, and what are the risks involved in going through such a complex procedure in a foreign country?
