BBC Radio 4 - Writing the century
The untold history of the Twentieth Century, as told through letters

New Year's Eve 2007 will see the broadcast of a Woman’s Hour drama series called “Writing the Century”. With the aim of telling the untold history of the Twentieth Century, the series will draw on letters and correspondence of both major 20th century figures and unknown voices. Producer Polly Thomas joins Jane to talk about the power of the letter, for drama; the inspirational characters dramatised so far; and how you might help the drama team illustrate just how life was for everyday people during that time.
