Losing a Parent 23 Nov 2007
How do you a prepare a child for the loss of their mum or dad?

The Channel 4 television series the Mummy Diaries showed families dealing with the trauma of having a mother diagnosed with incurable cancer. They had pre-bereavement counselling with Julie Stokes, from the charity Winston's Wish. But can you really prepare a child for the loss of a parent? And what services are available to help? Julie joins Jane, along with Barbara Monroe from St Christopher’s Hospice in London and Steve Curtis whose wife died during the making of the series.
