New guidelines for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
Heart disease in European women now accounts for around 55% of deaths. In addition, findings have indicated that British-Asian women face an even greater risk. This week, at the annual conference of the British Cardiovascular Society, a report on Heart Disease in Women was published. Ritula will be discussing its recommendations which, it is hoped, will have an important impact on the way that cardiovascular problems in women can be prevented, managed and treated. To discuss the guidelines and the scale of the problem in Britain, Ritula is joined by the chair of the working group who produced the report, Dr Jane Flint, and Dr Vahini Naidoo, Consultant in Nuclear Cardiology at the Royal Brompton Hospital.
