Men's Hour |

When Woman's Hour was first launched in 1946, it was seen as a programme just for women, promising talks on "everything concerned with your sort of problems in the home". But items about men were often included - with early talks like 'Giving the Wife a Hand' and 'Four Brave Husbands' being superseded by discussions on male breast cancer and whether fathers should be present at the birth of their child.
With nearly 40% of listeners now being male, Jenni considers their place on the programme during the last 60 years. So, is Woman's Hour "obsessed with women's reproductive organs" or is it a programme valued and listened to by men and women alike for the insights it provides? Jon Snow and Andy Kershaw battle it out.
