Vulval health awareness 22 Mar 2006
There are no accurate figures for the number of women in this country who suffer from conditions of the vulva.

Money for research is scarce and in the days when people will openly discuss breast cancer and even testicular cancer without embarrassment, there is still a taboo surrounding both vulval cancer (which is relatively rare) and other vulval conditions such as chronic pain or skin complaints.

To find out more about vulval health conditions, Martha is joined by Fabia Brackenbury, sufferer of lichen sclerosis and founder of the Vulval Health Awareness Campaign and the National Lichen Sclerosis Support Group, and by David Nunns, consultant gynaecologist at Nottingham City Hospital.
