Mary Cortini
'A Year at an Italian Table'

Mary Contini is one of Scotland's best known cooks. She's one of the owners of the sumptuous Italian deli 'Valvona and Crolla', a legend in Edinburgh for its carefully sourced cheeses, meats, oils, and wines. She joins Jenni to talk about her new book in which she shares some of her family recipes. Mary also explains how a combination of Scots and Mediterranean influences have helped to form her palate; she may have grown up above an ice-cream shop, but even as a child in the fifties she knew how to appreciate a decent olive oil.
'Valvona and Crolla: A Year at an Italian Table', published by Ebury Press.  ISBN: 978-0-09-193045-5
