The award-winning jazz singer and broadcaster

Claire Martin is acknowledged as one of the world's finest jazz singers. She won Best Vocalist a record five times at the BBC/British Jazz awards. She has released thirteen albums, and is still the only European singer to reach number 1 in the prestigious Gavin Charts with her album ‘Make This City Ours’. She has opened concerts for Tony Bennett and worked with artists including Curtis Stigers, Jamie Cullum and Sir Richard Rodney Bennett. She is known to thousands of jazz fans as a presenter of ‘Jazz Line-Up’ on BBC Radio 3. Currently touring the UK, Claire joins Jane to discuss her career and the inspiration behind her new album, ‘A Modern Art’.
