Why do women find it harder than men to make the decision to go bankrupt?
According to recent research, nearly half of all people declaring themselves bankrupt are now women. But, even though there has been a dramatic rise in female bankruptcies since 2000 [when just 32% of the total was made up of women], The Consumer Credit Counselling Service says that bankruptcy is the best solution for many more women than actually take it up. To discuss the subject, Miriam O'Reilly is joined by Malcolm Hurlston, Chairman of Consumer Credit Counselling Service, and Louise Brittain, Head of Personal Insolvency at Baker Tilly.
