Playing with the Boys: Cricket 25 July 2006
Today a House of Commons committee told the Football Association that it should drop its ban on girls over 11 playing in mixed teams. But how does this apply to cricket? Clare Connor, the former captain of the Ashes-winning English Women's Cricket team, was the first woman to play alongside the boys in the first eleven at her school, Brighton College .

Twelve years later two girls at the school are following in her footsteps: Holly Colvin and Sarah Taylor. And at 16 they have just made history by being the first school girls to be picked for the England squad when they play India next month.

Felicity Finch went to meet them.
