It was British travel writer Emily Lowe in the 1850's who wrote "We two ladies...have found out and will maintain that ladies alone get on in travelling much better than with gentlemen...The only use of a gentleman in travelling is to look after the luggage, and we take care to have no luggage."

s a new website called the Thelma and Louise Club is launched as a forum for women to find travelling companions, Jenni explores the growing market for women-only holidays and how the reasons for women travelling together have changed. She's joined by travel writer Jennifer Cox and Jane Robinson an expert on the history of women's travel
