Images of Angola


Author and photographer Nick Danziger has recently returned from Angola where he was sent by the charity One World Action to document the lives of ordinary Angolans.

An exhibition of his photographs is to be held at the Berkeley Square Gallery, London from Thursday 13 March. Here's a sneak preview.


These girls have clubbed together to hire a shanty dwelling five minutes from central Luanda. They told Nick Danziger their greatest desire is to go to school


When these boys spotted photographer Nick Danziger and the camera crew travelling with him, they ran to a nearby rubbish dump and - within minutes - fashioned a range of pretend still and film cameras of their own. They even have a would-be sound boom


This baptist priest is consecrating a church before the congregation arrive. The Church is very important in the lives of most Angolans but it's also been a divisive influence
