Playing With Fire

Playing With Fire: From the set of the play.
Playing with Fire looks at the causes of the race riots in Bradford, Burnley and Oldham in 2001. It also examines the issue of multiculturalism at a time when the chair of the commission for racial equality warns that we are sleepwalking our way to segregation.. On Thursday 22nd September Trevor Phillips is expected to say in a speech in Manchester that we're becoming more divided by race and religion. Our reporter Nicola Stanbridge has seen the play and been behind the scenes with cast and crew and one of the authors of a government report on the race riots who in turn advised David Edgar on his play.


24th August 2005
David Edgar talks about his new play " Playing with Fire ", a commentary on multicultural Britain.

8th September 2005
A new play about multiculturalism called "Playing with Fire" opens in the autumn.  

21st September 2005
