Frog
Out and about with Frogs in Shared Earth
Dylan Winter finds out from some Shared Earth listeners what early signs of Spring they have spotted. From young greenfinches to wood pigeon chicks, a newt and a Red Admiral butterfly have all braved the listeners' gardens and the rapidly changing weather. Find out how Spring is progressing up the country at the BBC's Springwatch website

Woodland survey - Brett Westwood and Harry Green are out and about in Shared Earth listener, Chris Messenger's recently purchased wood again. Find out from Butterfly Conservation the types of butterflies that love woodland glades, rides and edges. Also see for yourself what the pale and ghostly bird's-nest orchid looks like here

And how do you help a toad across a road? Dylan finds out from Bath and North East Somerset Council who close a lane during the breeding season to allow toads, frogs and newts to make it safely to ponds where they breed and how an army of volunteers aid these amorous amphibians. More information here

It's National Nest Box Week and Graham Appleton of the British Trust for Ornithology has some useful tips in the programme for providing the ideal home for housesparrows. Information about the week's event and the BBC's Nest Box Challenge can be found here
