PROGRAMME INFO
Thursday 21:00-21:30
Leading Edge brings you the latest news from the world of science. Geoff Watts celebrates discoveries as soon as they're being talked about - on the internet, in coffee rooms and bars; often before they're published in journals. And he gets to grips with not just the science, but with the controversies and conversation that surround it.

Ice Hotel in Sweden

Ice Physics

Geoff finds out about the physics of ice and how it is able to support the weight of an ice skater.

Beds

For patients immobilized in the hospital ward by serious injuries, bed sores or pressure ulcers (to give them their proper name) are more than an extra insult. They’re a medical complication they could well do without. And new 21st-century mattresses with built-in pressure sensors may have the answer.
