This week's topics:

Aluminium Foil

Question: I use aluminium foil a lot and I just throw it away when I've done with it. Can you tell me what it is made of, whether it decomposes and are there ways of recycling it?

ALUPRO: UK Aluminium Packaging Recycling Organisation
EAFA: European Aluminium Foil Association

The Draft London Plan

Question: Mayor Livingstone's Draft London Plan appears to support denser housing accommodation and better use of business space. Whilst this might be a laudable way of limiting the physical expansion of London and protecting our Green Belt, won't it result in the high rise hell we saw back in the 1960s?

Home Planet interviewed the Deputy Mayor for London, Nicky Gavron and Bob Neill, the Chair of the GLA's Planning and Spatial Development Committee.

GLA: London
RTPI: Royal Town Planning Institute
Government: Planning
The Planning Exchange
LSE: Planning

Declining Songbirds

Question: To my mind there is no doubt that songbirds have been in decline ever since farmers started to rely on pesticides from the 1960s onwards. But has a link ever been established, or are farmers just a handy Aunt Sally?

Game Conservancy Trust
RSPB
BTO: British Trust for Ornithology
FWAG: Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group

Yangtze Dam

Question: What are the social and environmental costs of the Chinese scheme to dam the Yangtze river?
