Common Problems

Why did you book your last appointment with your GP? The chances are that it was because you had a problem such as a bad cough or cold, or a nagging pain that hadn't gone away by itself.

Maybe you were feeling tired all the time, or a bit under the weather. The majority of our trips to the surgery are to talk to our doctors about these and other common conditions. And it seems that we're not always satisfied with the answers we get, as we often return to the GP with the same problem.

In Check Up this week Barbara Myers will be joined by London GP, Dr Ann Robinson, to answer your questions on these common and often chronic problems that are very familiar to her and other family doctors.

She will be providing advice to the listeners about how to deal with problems from sniffles to sinuses, and headaches to skin conditions such as eczema. She will be suggesting when patients should keep coming back to the see their GP and when they should seek help from other practitioners such as a pharmacist.

Saturday 1 January at 2pm
The topic of this special edition will be Chronic Resolutions
