Jonathan Dimbleby

Jonathan Dimbleby
Jonathan Dimbleby has chaired Any Questions? since 1987 and began presenting Any Answers? the following year.

He took his degree in philosophy at University College , London and began his career as a television and radio reporter for BBC Bristol in 1969, moving on to Radio 4's The World at One in 1970. He joined Thames Television in 1972, where his programmes included This Week, the Jonathan Dimbleby in Evidence series and First Tuesday, where he was both presenter and associate editor from 1982-1986. He currently presents Jonathan Dimbleby, ITV's weekly flagship political programme. Other work has included Jonathan Dimbleby on Sunday for TV-am and On the Record for the BBC.

In 1994 he wrote and presented the documentary on the Prince of Wales: Charles,The Private Man, the Public Role and published his book, The Prince of Wales: A Biography. In 1997 the BBC screened The Last Governor, his series on the final five years of British rule in Hong Kong and he published a book of the same name. More recently he has written and presented programmes about Ethiopia and Kosovo.

He is President of the Soil Association and Chairman of the Bath Festivals Trust until the end of 2005. He is a trustee of the Richard Dimbleby Cancer Care Fund, and the One World Broadcasting Trust.”
