Fi Glover started her BBC career as a filing clerk in News Information Research in the days before Google made the cutting out of features from newspapers a redundant career path. She then got a place on the BBC Trainee Reporter Scheme which took her, and her steep learning curve, on a trip around various local radio stations before settling at GLR where she ended up presenting The Breakfast Show.
Radio Five Live beckoned for a stint on a show called The Ad Break and on learning that she was not a well groomed blonde beauty The Travel Show kindly employed her on BBC2 as a presenter for four series of what can only be described as the best job in the world, ever, ever, ever.
When this dream came to an end Fi took off to write a book about the lovely weirdness of local radio stations across the world, imaginatively called Travels With My Radio.
After sitting in on almost every show at Radio Five Live she took up the reins of the late night programme and stayed with the station for several years departing to try her hand at writing a second book in the States.
This was rudely interrupted by a call from Radio 4 to present Broadcasting House which she did for 18 months before leaving to have a baby. She is now poised and waiting for you on Saturday mornings with yet another programme with a self explanatory title.
