Dominic Arkwright

Dominic Arkwright is the presenter of Off The Page - a quirky discussion programme on Radio 4.

He joined the BBC in 1985 as a reporter with Radio WM in Birmingham, moved to the Today programme two years later and somehow contrived to remain there for 15 years before moving on to PM and Broadcasting House.

He's travelled extensively - reporting on wars and political and cultural upheavals from countries including Burma, Sudan, Nagorno-Karabakh, Kashmir, Uzbekistan and Bolivia.

But Dominic is best known for his original and occasionally eccentric reporting of the UK. He has covered every area of British life, both socially and geographically, and was first with the news that - scientifically-speaking - it is the milk which should go into the cup first.

Dominic spent two short periods on Newsnight but it was declared mutually advantageous that he should stick to radio. As well as Off The Page he presents occasional documentaries.

He has four daughters and one son and lives in Gloucestershire.
