Uncovering Pakistan

When Benazir Bhutto was assassinated at the end of 2007, Pakistan became the focus of intense global news coverage. Now, in the run-up to one of the most uncertain elections of the decade, BBC Radio 4 explores the country behind the headlines. Uncovering Pakistan will examine the country's turbulent history since Partition over 60 years ago, and consider where it goes from here. We will be looking at a country and a people - both in Pakistan and in the UK – full of surprises: rich in culture and tradition, but divided by class and tribalism.
