Liz McKenzie has confronted an all too common problem – personal debt. One in five Britons now has a credit card debt of over £2,000. For Liz the situation was much worse.
Liz grew up in a working class area of Glasgow. By the age of 21, she had 3 children – and massive debts. She owed money to credit cards, catalogue companies, the bank, legal and illegal credit sources. Trapped in an abusive marriage, pursued by loan sharks, she contemplated suicide before taking control of her financial situation.
Liz McKenzie tells Fergal Keane how she turned her life around - and why others in a similar position should take the plunge and ask for help.
