a healthy mind in a healthy body?

Mens Sano In Corpore Sano

The number of people going to gyms has doubled in the past decade. Eighteen percent of us now use gyms or health clubs, and around ten percent are actually members.

But gyms and health clubs are changing. In the seventies they were full of blokes who grunted a lot. The eighties were the age of the leotard and aerobics classes, and in the 90's apparently if you weren't lifting weights it was step aerobics. Now it's Mind and Body classes like Pilates and yoga.

Shop Talk asks if we now as keen to exercise the mind as the body?

Guests:

Nigel Wallace
Executive Director
Fitness Industry Association

David Sye
Yogabeats

Bathsheba Smith
All the Way Gospel Aerobics

Ed Radkiewicz
Business Health

Greg Davidson
