Listeners' Pictures at 5pm
Connect2Text (C) 2006 Deafblind UK. This allows a deafblind person to make a mobile phone call in Braille. They type, an operator speaks their words, types back what we say, which they then read in Braille.
If the pictures were better you'd see that the laptop is also running Connect2Text and is connected via a landline to my Moto, which in turn is Bluetoothed with the IPAQ. What I type on the laptop can be read in Braille on the IPAQ (all that's missing is a pocket Braille display) and vice-versa.
In the background is a Pacmate Braille notetaker, also running Connect2Text and showing an SMS text in Braille.
As far as we know, Connect2Text is the world's first easy to use Braille mobile software, without the need for specialist knowledge or a 3rd party gateway. A plug I know but we are a Registered Charity! www.deafblind.org.uk
