Listeners' photos at 5pm
I'm normally quite creative with my photography and take more time over them - but I had completely forgotten about this until the programme started so I stuck to the spirit of the project and took a photo of what was literally in front of me. It is not a pretty sight and perhaps deserves a little explanation.
I have a hiatus hernia and I have been waiting three years for an operation. I was due to go into hospital last week but it was postponed until this week at the last minute. I am just getting my stuff ready to take with me.
You also asked how long we have been listening. Well, off and on I have been around at five-ish since about 1980 when I was in the Fleet Air Arm. I had my own little world to run with very few visitors and Radio 4 on all day long. Apart from when I was a kid and hearing the Archers theme coming from the kitchen as my Dad cooked breakfast - this was my introduction. Incidentally, whenever I hear the Archers theme I can still smell fried bread!
