"Presenting Nice Work is fascinating because of the wide range of stories you hear, and the people you get to meet. Not only do we cover the big picture trends and theories, we get up close to the real experience of work, from the people who actually do it.
Over the next six weeks we'll be looking at the pros and cons of work experience; investigative claims that Britain is fast becoming a nation of malingerers and updating you on disability issues. We'll also be looking into the spiritual side of working life and finding out about the help available for people who want to return to work after a lengthy career break."

Long Term Unemployment
In Nice Work today Philippa Lamb will be looking at innovative ways of helping the long term unemployed back into jobs. ‘On the buses’ rather than ‘on yer bike’ is one approach looked at, with the ‘experts’ coming to your door. The programme asks: whose responsibility is it to train up people who’ve lost the habit of working?
Social Work
And we take a look at how you recruit people for a job with a bad press and low pay, Social Work. There's a quiet revolution going on in the profession. From April 1st all social workers need to be registered and the public can check up on them to see they are properly qualified. But will the changes boost public confidence and the numbers applying to do the job?
