"Presenting Nice Work is fascinating because of the wide range of stories you hear, and the people you get to meet. Not only do we cover the big picture trends and theories, we get up close to the real experience of work, from the people who actually do it.
Over the next six weeks we'll be looking at the pros and cons of work experience; investigative claims that Britain is fast becoming a nation of malingerers and updating you on disability issues. We'll also be looking into the spiritual side of working life and finding out about the help available for people who want to return to work after a lengthy career break."

Ethnic Diversity in the Workplace
Philippa Lamb asks how targets have helped UK companies achieve a more diverse workforce. And does diversity equal better business?
The programme includes an interview with the man who must have one of the most challenging jobs in the UK. Martin Tiplady is director of HR at the Metropolitan Police. He is tasked with trying to ensure that the force meets its targets by 2009. What will it take in order to be successful?
Also the view from Chicago. Chicago is one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the US and in the 70s the drive to create a more ethnically mixed police department began. 30 years on, the PD is now 43% non-white - still 25% short of its target.
And a report from Ford in Dagenham. In 1999 Ford was in disarray as it stood accused of turning a blind eye to racial harassment and digitally swapping black faces for white in a photograph for a company brochure. Five years later on, we ask how far the company has come in changing its workplace culture.
