"Presenting Nice Work is fascinating because of the wide range of stories you hear, and the people you get to meet. Not only do we cover the big picture trends and theories, we get up close to the real experience of work, from the people who actually do it.
Over the next six weeks we'll be looking at the pros and cons of work experience; investigative claims that Britain is fast becoming a nation of malingerers and updating you on disability issues. We'll also be looking into the spiritual side of working life and finding out about the help available for people who want to return to work after a lengthy career break."

Pulling a sickie
How many sick days did you take off work last year?
The national average was 9 but research due to be published later this week suggests that the amount of time you take off has a lot to do with where you work. Local government and health workers, for example, take twice as many sick days as private sector employees working in areas such as the law and information technology.
So what's behind these figures and how many of these sick days are actually just barefaced skiving?
We will also hear about the movement to make work a more spiritual experience - it's hugely popular in America but what do British workers make of it?
Also in the programme, why terminally-ill staff feel let down by the government.
