In the last in this series, Evan Davis and his guests discuss the management of luxury brands and the benefits and pitfalls of expanding overseas.
There are dozens of posh brands but only a few now that are on the “must have” shopping lists of the most status-conscious among us. As many luxury brands have chosen to chase volume sales, Evan asks whether this strategy allows a company to keep its luxury tag. Is exclusivity a byword for these brands?
And once you’ve conquered your home market, the natural impulse is to move overseas. But if expansion at home is often difficult, growing abroad can be a nightmare. Our panel share their dos and don’ts of selling overseas.
After this, the programme takes a short break but returns on February 3rd.
This week's guests:
Karan Bilimoria
Founder/Chief Executive, Cobra Beer
