Dr Bernard Richardson recalls the great Victorian physicist Sir Charles Wheatstone, who developed the instrument now known as the concertina. His creation was eagerly adopted by Italian composer and musician Guilio Regondi, who became a master of the instrument and wrote many of his compositions for it.
