Susan Sheridan trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she was awarded the Malvern Prize. Her career has involved extensive work in theatre, television and radio, as well as the specialised world of film and TV voice-overs.
Susan has played Jan in the national tour of Bedroom Farce; Angela in Abigail's Party; Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night's Dream; Sukey Tawdry in The Beggar's Opera; and Mrs Arbuthnot in Calculus. She played Cinderella three times before gaining her wings and becoming Fairy Godmother - most recently in Eastbourne's 2003/4 Cinderella.
On television, Susan has appeared in Macbeth; The Troubleshooters; Rainbow; Only When I Laugh; Agony; Bless Me Father and ITV's long-running series Why Can't I Go Home?.
Among the many cartoons Susan has voiced, favourites are: Animal Shelf (nominated for a BAFTA); Jimbo and the Jet Set; Moomins; The Family Ness; and Noddy on BBC TV.
For Walt Disney, Susan played Princess Eilonwy in The Black Cauldron. Recently she has been the voice of Jade Fox in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and Serafina Pekkala in Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials.
For Radio 4, Susan's roles have varied from the Nurse in Macbeth to Flora in The Piano, and Lady Hunstanton in A Woman of No Importance. She has particularly enjoyed being the original Trillian in The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Susan will be performing her one woman play The Merry Wife of Wilton in September 2004 at the Windsor Fringe Festival, and at the New End Theatre, Hampstead in November.
