Thursday 2 November 2006 11:30-12:00 (Radio 4 FM)

Repeated: Monday 6 November 2006 0:15-0:45 (Radio 4 FM)

Polly Feversham celebrates the life and work of the author J P Donleavy, who reached the age of 80 earlier this year.

With twenty-four novels to his credit and further works planned, Donleavy is still very active. Perhaps best known for his best-selling controversial novel The Ginger Man, Donleavy is also a playwright and an artist, his fifteenth art exhibition having been held in Dublin earlier this year.
