Anne Swithinbank trained as a horticulturist at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew Gardens and was Glasshouse Supervisor at the Royal Hortcultural Society's demonstration garden at Wisley, Surrey for four years - where she lived above the laboratory with her husband, a fellow Kew graduate, their dog, two cats and two parrots.
Ann has a been a regular panellist on Gardeners' Question Time since 1994, she has also presented television gardening programmes including The Gardens of the Caribbean and The Chelsea Flower Show.
Anne has written for a number of magazines including the News of the World and BBC's Gardeners' World Magazine. She is the author of several books on Gardening including the Gardeners' World Book of Houseplants and Gardeners' World Book of Containers.
