Pat is the driving force behind Bridge Farm's organic success and the steady anchor of her sometimes rather frustrating family.

Practical and stoical, she's more often to be found listening to the problems of others than dwelling on her own troubles. She's valiantly supported daughter Helen through an eating disorder and son Tom through financial collapse, while at the same time buoying up the spirits of her often pessimistic husband Tony.

But when she discovered in late 2011 that her son John had fathered a child before he died, her obesession threatened to split the family.
