Alice and Christopher

Even though they grew up in the same small village, Alice Carter and Christopher Carter had had very little to do with each other until one night in the summer of 2008.

Chris was celebrating passing his farrier's exams and Alice was just celebrating. They were both going with friends to the opening of a new club. But the two of them were let down and ended up in each other's company.

As the evening progressed, Alice became drunker and their flirting grew stronger. At the end of the night Alice lunged and kissed Chris. He didn't resist but being a gentleman he didn't pursue the pass either. He kissed her back, then ordered a taxi and escorted her safely home.

The next day Alice was mortified but Chris told her not to worry. A strong friendship began to develop.

A few weeks later, and again separately, they went to the Bestival music festival on the Isle of Wight. Alice once more found herself in trouble when her tent and everything in it was stolen.

Although her friends Daisy and Jules were at the festival, it was Chris she turned to for help. And he didn't let her down. Chris gave Alice his tent and his sleeping bag and settled down for a night under the stars. But it was cold and Alice was worried by the idea of Chris in a chair outside. She invited him in.
