Joanna Trollope's choice is Miss Mackenzie by Anthony Trollope.
A distant relative of the Victorian novelist Anthony Trollope, Joanna Trollope also made her name with engaging family dramas set among the English clergy, including The Choir and The Rector's Wife. Her most recent novel is Friday Nights.
A lesser known work by Anthony Trollope (1815-1882), Miss Mackenzie was published in 1865, the same year as the first of the Palliser novels. It deals with a woman in her 30s whose life is changed by an inheritance. Reader: Kate Layden
