Gardeners' Question Time Garden for the Games Special

Garden for the Games is a nationwide scheme encouraging people to brighten up their local area this summer.

Gardeners' Question Time has been following the development of the new Olympic Park and Gardens closely and now we're delighted to announce that we'll be hosting a special Gardener's Question Time programme on 14 June in the London 2012 Olympic Park, Stratford, London.

If you would like to be in the audience for this special show; to be some of the first people to see how these new gardens have turned out find out how below:


We've got 20 pairs of tickets to give away for this event. As well as coming along to a recording of GQT, you'll be given an exclusive tour of the newly created Olympic Park gardens, parklands and wildflower meadows with the experts who created them, joining an audience of people from across the country who are taking part in Garden for the Games.

Tickets are free - but numbers are limited.

NB: Due to the high-profile nature of the event you will need to provide photographic ID details (Passport or UK Driving Licence) on the day of the event to enter the Olympic Park.


Please make sure you read these terms and conditions carefully:

Entering the ticket giveaway:

1. We, The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Limited, are referred to below as "LOCOG", "We", "Us" or "Our".

2. By entering this 'BBC Gardeners Question Time - Garden for the Games Special' ticket giveaway (the "ticket giveaway") you ("You") are accepting these terms and conditions, LOCOG's website's Terms of Use and any specific rules, entry instructions and other specific details relating to this ticket giveaway or to the Prize published on this website or in any media which features this ticket giveaway (together the "Rules").

3. This ticket giveaway is only open to those aged 18 years and over and are resident in the United Kingdom.

4. You must send in your name, age and telephone number to with the subject line "BBC GQT Garden for the Games ticket giveaway." 20 winners will be selected at random by LOCOG from the entries received.

5. Employees or agencies of LOCOG and their family members, or anyone else connected with the ticket giveaway may not enter the ticket giveaway.

6. Only one entry per person is permitted.

7. We reserve the right to verify the eligibility of all entrants.

8. The opening date of the ticket giveaway is 3.00pm on Friday 25 May 2012 and any entries received before this date will not be considered.

9. The closing date of the ticket giveaway is 3.00pm on Tuesday 5 June 2012, and any entries received after this closing date/time will not be considered.

10. You are responsible for the cost (if any) of sending your ticket giveaway entry to us.

The prize

12. 20 winners will be selected at random from the entries received and each one will receive one pair of tickets to attend the 'BBC Gardeners Question Time - Garden for the Games Special' at the Olympic Park to be held on 14 June 2012 (the "Prize").

13. The Prize cannot be exchanged or transferred by the winner and cannot be redeemed by the winner for cash or any other prizes.

14. In the event of unforeseen circumstances or circumstances outside our control, We reserve the right to vary or withdraw any element of the Prize or offer an alternative prize of equal value. No cash will be offered.

Picking the winner

15. To be eligible to win the Prize, you must send in your name, age, and telephone number to 20 winners will be selected at random from the entries received.

16. The winners of the Prize will be notified by 11.00am on Wednesday 6 June 2012 via the email addresses the ticket giveaway entry was sent from.

17. Each winner will be asked to confirm their place and their guests name by latest 00:00 on Sunday 10 June 2012. In the event that We do not receive a response by such date We reserve the right to reallocate the Prize to another entrant.

18. Details of the winner can be obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope to the following address: Local Leader Team, Gardeners' Questions Time ticket giveaway winner, LOCOG, One Churchill Place, Canary Wharf, London, E14 5LN.

Publishing the winning entry

19. By entering this ticket giveaway and/or taking part in the activities forming the Prize, you agree to take part in or co-operate with a reasonable amount of publicity or other promotional activity and agree that we may publish your name and home town, and any photographs, films and/or recordings made by us or on our behalf and featuring you.

Some other rules

20. We take no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt.

21. No purchase is necessary.

22. The Promoter of the ticket giveaway is LOCOG, One Churchill Place, Canary Wharf, London, E14 5LN. Any complaints regarding the ticket giveaway should be sent to this address.

23. Nothing in the Rules shall exclude the liability of LOCOG for death, personal injury, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation as a result of its negligence.

24. LOCOG accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by any person as a result of entering the ticket giveaway or accepting any prize. LOCOG further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to You or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the ticket giveaway.

25. LOCOG reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this ticket giveaway with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of LOCOG in all matters under its control is final and binding.

26. LOCOG shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.

27. We shall keep your personal details for a reasonable time so that we can operate the ticket giveaway and verify that the Rules have been complied with, as well as for accounting purposes. We may pass your details on to our service providers and agents to facilitate your participation in the ticket giveaway and (where applicable) taking up the Prize. Any personal data relating to you will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

28. The ticket giveaway will be governed by English law. You irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
