Guests
DAVID REYNOLDS is Professor of International History at Cambridge University and author of In Command of History: Churchill Fighting and Writing the Second World War. On the 40th anniversary of Winston Churchill's death, David discusses Churchill's other career - that of historian. How far has our perception of Churchill been coloured by his own retelling of history? In Command of History: Churchill Fighting and Writing the Second World War is published by Allen Lane.
Historian MICHAEL WOOD examines the creation and legacy of the Churchill myth. His new series, In Search of Myths and Heroes, starts on BBC 2 on Friday 4 February at 9.00pm.
Writer and journalist JOHN HARRIS is "dismayed" with New Labour. His book, So Now Who Do We Vote For?, addresses the 3 million who voted Labour at the last general election but who will be doubtful about whether to do so again. So Now Who Do We Vote For? is published by Faber and Faber.
Writer and journalist JO-ANNE NADLER recognises a lot of what John Harris feels and writes about, but from a different perspective. Jo-Anne is a Conservative supporter who feels the same disenchantment about the Tories.
A number of East European countries are being told that in order to join the EU they must first solve the problem of organised crime. But, as journalist and author MISHA GLENNY reveals, this is easier said than done. Misha is giving the Oxford Amnesty Lecture, which is called The Spider Trap, on Thursday 3 February.
