Nobel Prize-winning author Wole Soyinka returns to Biafra to confront the ghosts of his past. Forty years ago the eastern region of Nigeria erupted into civil war as the people of Biafra fought for an independent state. As the fighting began, Soyinka undertook a dangerous journey into the heart of the conflict, a mission which was to end with imprisonment by the Nigerian authorities.
