CHRIS CORBIN Chris Corbin is the restauranteur who, with his partner Jeremy King, restored faded restaurants to their former glory such as The Ivy and Le Caprice. In 1990 he was diagnosed with Leukaemia now raises money for the Leukaemia charity Leuka. Ten years ago he started the event Who's Cooking Dinner? in which guests pay to have a top chef cook dinner for them. Who's Cooking Dinner? will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel, Park Lane, London W1 on 3rd March.
LEON BOSCH Leon Bosch is a double bass player. He grew up under Apartheid in South Africa, and at the age of fifteen was arrested and imprisoned for taking part in a political protest. He went on to study at the South African College of Music where he was given a concerto with the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra, unprecedented for someone from his racial background. His new CD The British Double Bass is available Meridian Records.
SARAH CHANG Sarah Chang is the world renowned violinist. A child prodigy, she began her violin studies at the age of four and promptly enrolled in the Juilliard School of Music. She made her professional debut at the age of eight with the New York Philharmonic. She who will be performing Shostakovich Violin Concerto No 1 and Brahms Symphony No 1 with the London Symphony Orchestra on 21st February at the Barbican.
LISA FRENCH BLAKER
Lisa French Blaker has worked as a nurse in conflict zones all over the world. In her book Heart of Darfur she tells of the nine months she spent in Sudan as an aid worker with Medecins Sans Frontieres, telling of her team's struggle to save lives torn apart by war. Heart of Darfur is published by Hodder & Stoughton.
