JEAN-CHRISTOPHE NOVELLI Jean-Christophe Novelli is the Michelin and 5AA Rosette award winning chef. After coming to the UK in 1983 to help his friend and mentor Keith Floyd at this pub in Devon he opened his first restaurant Maison Novelli in Clerkenwell, London. He opened his Novelli Academy Cookery School in 1995, which is placed in the top 25 in the world. His new book, Everyday Novelli, is published by Headline.
VANESSA TOULMIN
Professor Vanessa Toulmin is the founder and research director of the National Fairground Archive, based at the University of Sheffield. She is behind the Showzamfestival, which is Blackpool's first, two week festival of circus, magic and new variety which is on from 8th-24th February. Vanessa is curating: Showtown: 100 Great names of blackpool entertainment, at the Olympia Gallery at the Winter Gardens from 7th to 24 February. The Whoopee Carnival Ball - at the Tower Ballroom on the 9th February. Duckie comes to Blackpool at the Tower Ballroom on 23rd February.
DAVE SPIKEY Dave Spikey is the stand-up comedian and actor. He spent over twenty five years working in the NHS whilst trying to break into comedy. A regular on the club circuit, in 1996 he met fellow Boltonian Peter Kay and they wrote the hit comedy Phoenix Nights with Dave playing ‘the compere without compare’, Jerry St Clair.He is about to embark on a nationwide tour - The Best Medicine - from 9th February until May.
HARRIET LAMB
Harriet Lamb has been the Executive Director of the Fairtrade Foundationsince 2001. In her book Fighting the Banana Wars she explains that Fairtrade is a better deal for workers and farmers in the developing world. Fighting the Banana Wars and other Fairtrade Battles is published by Rider books. Fairtrade Fortnight is from 25th February until 9th March.
