DOMINIC MATTOS Dominic Mattos is an actor and impersonator who has a lifelong fascination with the former American musical star, Ethel Merman. He brings her to life on the London stage in his one-man show Merman at the Jermyn, a tribute to her on the 100th anniversary of her birth. Merman at the Jermyn is at the Jermyn Street Theatre, London SW1 on 20th January.
TOM PAXTON Tom Paxton is the legendary folk singer with hits including The Last Thing On My Mind, Ramblin' Boy and Goin' To The Zoo. A stalwart of the New York folk scene in the sixties, he followed the tradition of Woody Guthrie with his involvement in left-wing causes.
His UK Tour begins on 18th January at The Anvil Theatre, Basingstoke and runs until 27th January. His new album 'Comedians and Angels is released on 21st January on Appleseed Records.
SATISH KUMAR Satish Kumar is the world-renowned ecologist and peace campaigner. He is director of programmes at the Schumacher College, Devon, an international centre for ecological studies and founder and editor of Resurgence magazine. In a new film Earth Pilgrim: A Year on Dartmoor, Satish walks the Dartmoor National Park telling of his life - rediscovering nature and finding inner peace. Earth Pilgrim: A Year on Dartmoor, part of the Natural World series, is 18th January, BBC2, 8pm (repeated 20th January, 6.10pm).
ELIZABETH GORDON Lizz Gordon is an amateur photographer. She appears in a new Channel 4 series Picture Thisin which a number of amateur photographers compete for the chance to cut it as a photographer with an exhibition of their own work. Picture This is on from 6th January at 7pm on Channel 4.
