Libby Purves
This week Libby Purves is joined by Maddy Prior, Joe Asakibeem, Tony Groom and Legs' Larry Smith.
MADDY PRIOR
Maddy Prior is a legend on the folk circuit and one of the founding members of Steelye Span. She is currently touring the UK with the Carnival Band offering a new interpretation of seasonal songs.
The Carnival Band UK tour until 21st December and CD “Ringing the Changes” by the The Carnival Band is out now on Park Records.

JOE ASAKIBEEM
Joe Asakibeem is the project manager for Operation Sirigu, the longest running project run by the charity Afrikids, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Operation Sirigu deals with the hugely sensitive issue of the traditional belief of ‘Spirit Children’ in which children believed to harbour ‘spirits’ are put to death. 

TONY GROOM
Tony Groom is a former Royal Navy Clearance Diver who joined the Royal Navy at the age of seventeen. He became a member of the Fleet Clearance Diving Team and found himself diving for mines, dealing with unexploded bombs and being shot at in the Falklands War. He left the Navy in 1985, and has since travelled the world as a commercial diver. His memoirs, Diver: A Royal Navy and commercial diver's journey through life, and around the world is published by Seafarer Books.

‘LEGS' LARRY SMITH
‘Legs' Larry Smith was the drummer of the comedy satirical rock group the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band. As the drummer he was a core member of the band and played on their top 5 hit "I'm The Urban Spaceman" and he also toured with Eric Clapton, Elton John and George Harrison.
Their first studio album in thirty-five years Pour L’Amour des Chiens is out on 10th December.
