HENRY WOOLF Henry Woolf is an actor, who went to school with the playwright Harold Pinter. He encouraged him to write his first play The Room which he directed and appeared in 1957. Henry is about to appear in a revival of The Hothouse which Pinter dedicated to him, later this month. The Hothouse by Harold Pinter opens on 18th July (previews from 11th July) at the National's Lyttleton Theatre.
LEE MEAD Lee Mead was the winner of the recent BBC TV series Any Dream Will Do in which he won the role of Joseph in a new production of the Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat opens at the Adelphi Theatre, London on 17th July (previews from 6th July).
K'NAAN K'Naan is the Somali rapper who escaped from Mogadishu and the Civil War there when he was thirteen. He now lives in Canada and has just won Best Newcomer at the Radio 3 World Music Awards.
K'Naan's new album The Dusty Foot on the Road is out now on Wrasse Records.
BEN AND CHARLOTTE HOLLINS Ben and Charlotte Hollins escaped eviction from their organic farm, which had been in the family for 700 years, after selling shares for £50 each to the general public. The Fight for Fordhall Farmis published by Hodder & Stoughton on 12th July.
