On Midweek this week:-
PHILIP MOULD
Philip Mould is one of the country's foremost authorities on British portraiture. Over the last twenty years he has been credited with many important discoveries including the earliest portrait of the Queen Elizabeth I as a young princess.
His new gallery 'Philip Mould Ltd' is at 29 Dover Street, London W1.
PHYLLIS RODRIGUEZ
Phyllis Rodriguez’s son Greg was among the victims of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Centre. Since then she has befriended the mother of Zacarias Moussaoui, the 13th alleged hijacker. Phyllis is now working for The Forgiveness Project, a charity promoting reconciliation.
JOHN WOOD
John Wood was formerly head of Microsoft's advance into China, until a life changing trip to Nepal, where he visited a school with very few books. He decided to give up his job and set up Room to Read, an organisation that donates books to schools in under privileged countries like Nepal, Vietnam and Thailand.
His book Leaving Microsoft to Change the World is published by Harper Collins.
ALASTAIR HUMPHREYS
Five years ago Alastair Humphreys, then 24, left England to cycle round the planet. He cycled 46,000 miles, crossed 60 countries and 5 continents. He did this with no back-up team on a budget of less than £4 a day. He has now released the book of the first epic stage of his journey, Moods of Future Joys, which is available on Amazon.
